Nasheima Sheikh 〉

Nasheima has worked in the public and voluntary sector in the UK for many years, in the fields of race relations, community development, training and human resource management. She has worked for Birmingham Voluntary Service Council and Birmingham City Council Social Services department, as well as small voluntary organisations. Her recent work history involves being Assistant Chief Executive of Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid – a charity that addresses issues of gender-based violence.  

 

Currently she is Safeguarding Co-ordinator for Islamic Relief Worldwide, improving safeguarding policy and practice and undertaking case investigations across the many countries in which they operate. Nasheima has a passionate interest in voluntary work, having been a Governor and Vice Chair for Sampad, a South Asian arts organisation, as well as being active in her local neighbourhood community forum.
